The Location-Trace can be used to accurately locate a mobile phone by sending an anonymous SMS containing a special tracking link. As soon as the contents are opened, MobiFind will try to find out the exact location by turning on the GPS antenna and also localize its IP address.
+ Instructions:
1 - Enter the desired phone number.
2 - Click the green ‘Predefined' button to choose a topic or leave it as is.
3 - Press the 'Send to phone' button.
4 - Wait patiently for the link to be opened. Then check your E-mail inbox.
5 - Open the google-maps link in the email to view the location or go to your 'Location-History' to see the location or status.

The person will receive an SMS with an intriguing link to a special website. This website is natural and has nothing to do with phone tracking. When the person visits the special website, MobiFind will try to activate the GPS antenna and forward the location to your email. MobiFind will also retrieve the IP (Internet Protocol) address. So in case the phone is not equipped with a GPS antenna or if access to the antenna is denied, MobiFind will still be able to make a good estimation of the location.

⚠ If the user doesn't open the link or has blocked location services, MobiFind won’t be able to trace a location. In that case MobiFind will still deduct 2 credits.
⚠ The results may vary greatly. If we do not get permission to activate the GPS, we cannot retrieve an exact location. In that case you will not receive a second email containing the exact location.
⚠ IP data from a GPRS/3G/4G connection does not give a good location estimate. WiFi however, can give a pretty good estimate.
Therefore it’s a good idea to perform the GPS trace when the person is connected to a WiFi network. This is usually in the early morning or when the subject most likely a hotel, at school, at work, or at home.
